KRAKOW

Krakow is a former capital city of Poland, situated at the foot of the Royal Wawel Castle, residence of Polish Kings build in 14th century. The town is rich in tradition and great historical monuments, where 8 UNESCO listed objects can be found.  The most fascinating places to visit are the Krakow’s historic Old Town dominated by Cloth Hall, beautifully decorated St. Mary’s Basilica, Kazimierz District – the center of Jewish culture, salt mine at Wieliczka, just nearby the Krakow,as well as Auschwitz-Birenau concetration camp (approx. 66 km away from the city).

 Krakow is also a city of dynamic scientific centre with 24 universities, headed by the 700-year-old Jagiellonian University.  The city is a home to two largest Internet portals in Poland, ONET and INTERIA, as well as many providers of network services. It is in Kraków that COMARCH SA, one of the most dynamic Polish companies of the IT sector was established.
